Question Software question - 07-21-2010, 09:11 PM

I've been pretty trigger happy with my camera while I've been on vacation and will have some serious editing to do when I get home.

I'm looking for suggestions on two things that will make the job easier:

- an application that will resize pictures as a batch, so I don't have to do them one by one before uploading to the gallery.

- some simple video editing software. I really just want to be able to grab segments of a video at this point, nothing fancy.

Of course free would be good too. The bartenders seem to be taking all of my money down here...

You might take a look at Picasa, it's been a while since I used it, but I think it allows batch resizing, and it's free.

Zoombrowser, the software that comes free with Canon cameras, does both batch resizing and frame grabs. I will be uploading a couple of galleries in the next few days and used Zoombrowser to edit the photos. If you do not have a Canon, just borrow a CD from somebody. I will try to find and bring my CD to the next meeting, should I attend. You should also check the Canon website to see if you can download it.

Thanks for the input guys! I ended up going with Picasa, worked like a charm.
