City of Houston Underwater Mariners - The Water's More Exciting with CHUM in it FAQ

Well, our mantra is drinkers with a diving problem, but as you explore the site you'll find we are far more than that.

CHUM is a Houston scuba club that was founded by a group of divers from all levels of certification and experience to promote diving in Texas and share our experiences from around the world.

We invite you to register and join our discussion groups so you too can share your experience. Follow along in the forums and photo gallery to see how we are doing, and join in the adventure. Together we can improve our skills, broaden our experiences, go on exciting trips, make new friends, and have lots of fun.

CHUM - City of Houston Underwater Mariners, is registered in the state of Texas as a 501(c)(7) non-profit corporation.

We do ask that the forums / website not be used for commercial activity or to promote events of other dive clubs/organizations or scuba-related businesses without express written permission of either the CHUM President or Vice President. Any such posts will be removed immediately. Repeated infringements may result in the banning of the user id involved at the discretion of the CHUM Board of Directors.

All trips must be approved in writing by either the President or Vice President before the trip is posted in the forums.

The CHUM logo is exclusive property of CHUM/City of Houston Underwater Mariners. Any use without specific written permission from the CHUM Board of Directors is prohibited.

Once a month, we have a meeting with a speaker or program of some sort. The meetings are held the third Thursday of each month (except December) at Stag's Head Pub, 2128 Portsmouth, Houston 77098. We'll be in the Oak Room in the back.

Everyone's welcome - members, guests, family, friends, and even that guy who gave you an o-ring last time you were diving.

The "official" part of the meeting starts at 7:30 pm, but people usually trickle in about 7:00ish to chat with people and get their orders in for food and beverages.
