When Does Your Dive Count Start?

well naui says a dive for it to count as a dive has to be at least 20 feet for at leaast 20 min.

Putting limits like this on a "logged" dive seems silly to me. Diving Blue Springs run in Florida I never broke 10ft, but I saw more aquatic life (including bikini bottoms) than many a lake dive.

I just have to convince myself not to get too caught up in the number of dives I've done or that cumulative dive time that gets larger every trip. A log is simply a database and a record, a place to put down lessons learned and skills used. It can be a spreadsheet, a diary, or both.

I'm going to start logging the charters that get blown out. :p

No, you can't log a ZERO duration dive

Especially if you don't even make visual contact with the water!

Yes, I logged a 1 min dive, and have more in my notes section on that than a lot of other dives that were 50 times longer. I wasn't suggesting whether or not I would count that towards "I've done XXX dives so now I'm more special than when I had only XXX minus one."

The point is that a dive is a dive, and sometimes the ones that don't seem like they should not "count" are still important enough to be logged.
