Hi CHUMmers! My name is Linh, and I'm a brand new diver. I just did my OW and AOW at Mammoth Lake over the last two weekends, and I. Am. Hooked. So here I am to fill out my log book and meet some new dive buddies!

Hi everyone,
I'm Kirk. Native Texan and long-time Houstonian. I live a couple of miles East of downtown. I'm new to scuba: OWD (SSI) last October, and recently logged enough dives during a Florida trip for AOWD. Other than a couple of the local lakes, I've been diving in Costa Rica (Pacific side), and during my recent Florida trip dove some of the W. Palm Beach and Jupiter sites. When not plotting or dreaming about my next adventure, I enjoy biking, weight lifting, and mixing the perfect drink. I'm also a voracious reader.

Who did you dive with in West Palm Beach? My favorite is either Force E or Pura Vida.
Also who did you dive with in Costa Rica? My dive buddy and I were there in February and had a blast in Playas del Coco.

I dove with Narcosis and Pura Vida in W Palm Beach, and Jupiter Dive Center in Jupiter.
The Costa Rica trip wasn't originally planned as a dive trip, but I was certified right before going and ended up getting a couple of diving days in with Buceo Gavilana out of Playa Garza. I stayed just North of there in Nosara, which is the Pacific side -- Nicoya Peninsula. Way off the beaten path, which is what I was looking for on that particular trip.
Thanks. I'm a bit driven like that when it comes to things I really enjoy. I'm looking to squeeze another dive trip in somewhere before the year's out.

Hello. I’ve been diving for a little over a year. So far just 288 lake, mammoth lake, Cabo San Lucas and Cozumel. I have all my own gear just need some more diving experience and trying really hard to work on buoyancy. I’ve heard that flower gardens should be for more intermediate divers. Any advice would be great. Hope to dive with some of you soon!

Cindy and myself just completed OWD here in Cozumel and it was fantastic.
I found CHUM off of Scubaboard and feel thankful that I did. I’m fairly new to Texas but Cindy has lived here most of her life. We are looking forward to meeting new “local” people and getting more involved with diving. We live just North of Houston in Kingwood. Thank you for having us.

Welcome! I moved to Texas in 2015 and live on the west side in Katy. There are a lot of great people to dive with and several dive clubs you will probably run into if you dive any of the Texas lakes in the area. That's how I found several new places around here. Divers are a great community of people to get to know. Congratulations, enjoy and maybe I'll see you around the lakes in the area (not quite Cozumel, but you'll definitely learn a valuable skill set around here)
