Just completed a dive trip last weekend aboard the M/V Spree. Below is a quick trip report. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Getting there: Flew into and out of Fort Lauderdale (non stop on SWA). It was a little less than a 4 hour drive. Very pleasant and scenic drive, just don't be in a big hurry.

Seas: Seas conditions were very favorable, bounced a bit on the way out but otherwise calms seas.

Water: Water temp was around 80 degrees, visibility varied from 20-80 feet depending on depth and tides.

Dive Sites: 11 total dives including 2 night dives. Sites included Cooper's Reef (2 dives), Bat Cave (3 dives), Keeny's Wall (2), Davis Rock (2), Vandenberg wreck (2). The group also elected stop at Fort Jefferson in lieu of one AM dive. This was an interesting stop and was worthwhile.

Marine life: There is great diversity on these reefs in the Dry Tortugas. The reefs and corals are very healthy with lots of fish / marine life. Notable sitings include giant loggerhead turtle, king mackerel, schools of midnight parrotfish, jacks, amber jacks, countless crabs and lobster on night dives, and a live cowry shell - most interesting.

Boat / Operation: Spree was a fantastic dive boat. Great food, comfortable boat, super clean, and well maintained. There is definitely visible pride in ownership in this boat. Frank and Melanie run a very efficient and safe operation and you can see their commitment to delivering a good product.

I definitely plan on returning in 2015 as this was a great trip.
