Convert old wetsuit to a shorty

I have bought a new wetsuit and want to convert my old suit to a shorty. I have a quality sewing machine and not afraid to tackle this. Has anyone done it or knows of a tailor /alteration shop that does it?

I would think that you could just cut it to where you want it, then do a zigzag stitch along the cut edge to keep it from fraying. That would work for fabric, anyways. I've never sewn neoprene, though.

She used to be local but has since moved to the hill country. Not sure if she still makes trips to Houston now & then to meet with customers here.
I can vouch for Terrapin! She altered my wetsuit to add zippers at the ankle. Should've had her do the arms also ...
