Hi! My name is Jennifer. Born and raised in Houston. Got my OW a few years ago for our honeymoon in the Maldives and the AOW & Nitrox this past year. Recently picked up a lot more of the gear and looking forward to diving more often.

Didn't realize there was such an active & organized dive community here & excited to be here!

Greetings! Been diving several years but don't have a ton of dives in the book. 29 in total. I use Diving Log to keep track of equipment, trips and dives.

From Nacogdoches, TX. Favorite time consuming activity has been fishing, but that might change...

Was NAUI certified in high school in Tyler, Tx but got away from diving over time. Went on a cruise dive in 2013 and was hooked again! Got PADI certified shortly thereafter and went on a couple trips to Cozumel. Wife wanted to get her passport stamped on all eight continents and had one to go, Australia. I COULDN'T LET HER GO BY HERSELF NOW COULD I?? Yes I did dive the GBR.

Looking to get back into the blue!! Look forward to meeting you all (ya'll).

Hi Brent, and welcome! I'm Andrea, aka SilverBubbles. It's nice to have you. I lived in Tyler for a bit when I was a kid. I went to Andy Woods!

Not letting her go alone was the right call, for sure! Our next meeting is Thursday, 16 September at 7:30pm at Jake's Sports Bar on Chimney Rock, but we're doing hybrid meetings right now so it'll also be online. Can't wait to meet you!

Hi Andrea. Pleasure is mine. I moved to Tyler in Jr High and went to Hubbard, then Robert E Lee.

Putting the CHUM meetings on my calendar. Hope to see you there!

Hello CHUM!

Doug here. I just recently "signed up" and I looking forward to meeting and diving with y'all.

I actually have a brief history with CHUM...

I attended one whole meeting in the first half of 2017 (TMMSN was the guest presenter), paid my dues and was all ready to be an active member. Shortly after my old friend Harvey came along and life turned into a country song for a while. My time and energy thereafter was redirected solely to the recovery. An all too common story around this town. And so it goes.

PADI OW certified in 2001 if memory serves and currently hold an SSI DM cert (albeit one with an inactive status). I'm open to just about any dive opportunity from no suit to wetsuit to drysuit.

Was a fairly active freediver some years ago and had the opportunity to dive with some rather accomplished athletes in the sport (I was not one of them). That ship has sailed now, but I'd be game for dipping my toes back in if one or more have some interest in the pursuit.

I look forward to meeting the CHUM community in the months to come.

Best wishes for good health and much happiness for all y'all!

I’m Alex

Born and raised in CA, spent five years in PA, and have spent the past 3 years in Tomball.

I got certified in 2019, and I haven’t looked back close to 100 dives later! SSI Master Diver (not DM) and always looking to improve and learn as much as possible! I’m looking forward to meeting and diving with y’all and hearing all your stories

I dive local (Lagoon, Mammoth, Windy Point, Spring Lake, Clipper) and one of my goals for 2022 is to dive abroad

Hey, I’m Jas, 25 years old. I got my SCUBA OW cert back in 2015-ish, then had my babies in 2016 and 2019 so didn’t dive beyond my certification dives. I’ve never been in the OW yet.

I’m currently in college to be a Marine Biologist and hoping to hit the water soon.

Hello I’m Roman. I live in Houston and I’m relatively new to diving. My wife got a Flower Gardens trip for a present. I’m looking to meet up with people to sharpen my dive skills before I go.

A lot of us dive the Flower Gardens. I work on the boat that goes there and just got back from Labor Day weekend trip. When are you going?

It was great to meet you, Roman and Antlantean, at Blue Lagoon over the the weekend. So glad that you joined us in person! It's by far the best way to enjoy us :p

I have a credit for a trip that got cancelled for weather last year and haven’t rebooked yet. My plan is sometime in October or November.

That would have to be October since they don't run in November. I'll be DM the Oct 23rd weekend.

Hello everyone! My name is Adam and I'm a pretty new CHUMmer (June '21). I've met some of you in person at Jake's over the last few months, and met/dived with some of you at the Women's Dive Day event. I'd like to introduce myself properly to everyone I haven't met yet :)
  • I'm from the UK (near London) originally; been in Houston since '01: became a US Citizen in '12. Live in Katy.
  • I pay the bills, and my scuba hobby - working in IT
  • Am also an avid gamer (XBox) - PM me for my gamer tag :D
  • I learned to dive in the UK (BSAC) while attending College in the early 90's; got a fair number (150 or so) of dry-suit dives in very cold southern UK waters (many wrecks, a bunch of deco diving, night dives, shore dives. Max depth 120 feet or so).
  • Mid 90's: Fell in love; had kids (two daughters): stopped diving, donated all my gear to my BSAC scuba club
  • Fast forward to 2015: My now-adult youngest daughter Daisy expressed interest in diving while we were planning a family Cruise (Princess cruise lines) to the Bahamas. We certified in OW and AOW in PADI together prior, and had a really fun time diving together at a couple of stops on that Cruise :D
  • Daisy has since graduated College and lives and works up near Dallas so I don't get to see her that much :-/ We are both booked together on another Princess cruise to the Bahamas in early November '21 however and plan to get four dives in then at two of the stops *fingers crossed*
  • Other than the Cruise, I've hit Mammoth a number of times now, but nowhere else yet. Want to visit the Flower Gardens and Stetson. I am booked to visit the Kracken at the end of October '21 *fingers crossed*
  • Meanwhile I'm up for more local dives with anyone looking for a dive buddy, and of course *dive trips*. I'm not a tech diver (although I did get the Nitrox cert). Mostly I just enjoy hanging out with - and videoing - all the fish :)
  • I am also a member of the Bay Area Divers scuba club here in town.
Great to (virtually) meet you all!
