Hey everyone! I just wanted to share an upcoming trip I’m putting together for the Mexican Sardine Run in Magdalena Bay this December.

I had the chance to experience it last year, and it was absolutely wild—fast-paced, unpredictable, and one of those experiences you don’t forget. Think massive bait balls, striped marlin, sea lions, dolphins, whales, and nonstop action out in the open Pacific. It genuinely feels like you’ve dropped into the middle of a nature documentary.

I’ve attached a few photos from last year’s trip so you can get a feel for what it’s like. If anyone is interested or just curious, feel free to reach out. I’d be more than happy to share the details and answer any questions.

Cheers and happy bubbles! I’m also excited to be a new member of CHUM and look forward to meeting and diving with everyone!

That is awesome! Great minds think alike. I'm working on putting one together myself for early Dec. Planning on doing a combo of some La Paz and Cabo diving and fitting Magdalena bay in there somewhere for the sardine run. Did you do the snorkeling or boat whale watching? And what operator did you use? Would you use them again or a different one?

If you're wanting to run an official CHUM trip (which would be fantastic, btw), contact a board member. They can give you some info about being a trip leader and help you sort out the package details (hotel, diving, what's included, what's not included, etc.)
