Dive Event - Blue Lagoon on April 24/25, 2010

Hey folks, CHUM is having an official dive event at Blue Lagoon on April 24/25. There will be a concert by Texas songwriter Adam Carroll that Saturday night from 8pm to 10pm. Check out his website, his music clips sound good. As Phil put it, "acoustic folk country beer drinking music". What an awesome place to have a concert! :happyeyepatch2:

Come on out and join us! This event is for everyone from brand new divers to experienced divers. Divers can show up for either day or both days, and even camp overnight. I plan to arrive Saturday, do a few dives, have a few drinks, chat with lots of friends, listen to a great concert, then stagger to my tent. Get up next day and dive some more.

We have already reserved a shelter site for both days on Main Beach. Let us know if you can attend so we can plan accordingly. We want to have enough sites but not reserve more than we need.

I can bring my grill. It was well used during the Comal weekend.

Not sure if I am camping but have no problem leaving the grill as long as it gets returned to me soon after the weekend.

Comal camping was fun.... I can see eating a few more toasted marshmallows...

Unfortunately just got word I have to fly to Virginia on Thursday for business so I will no longer be able to attend.

Water temp report from yesterday was 67 degrees. Add a few more this week and we are looking at spring water temps, not bad at all. If you can handle the Comal you can handle this as the dives will be a little shorter and you'll be a bit more active.

Sign me up for camping.. Will get both tanks filled with air and the cooler filled with beer.

Whooo Hooooo another weekend of camping fun with my CHUM buddies.

(note to self.. get there early and refuse to move tent once RH arrives - Anyone know where RH's favorite spot is??)

I'm planning to be there and dive on Saturday only. I need to get my gear wet after the long winter!
Probably take wetsuit and drysuit for the practice, and hire a tank there.

I think I have to bring the drysuit along. Sounds like I will find a few drysuit buddies.
It will be soooooo happy to be let out of the closet and back in the water.

Just us know you are an offical member when paying.

I might get air at BL. $5 air for CHUM... Will have to invite Air Phil to join us for a beer.

Blue Lagoon: My computer showed temp to be 69. There were a few 71s reported. Vis today in Lagoon one was clear thirty ft. Lagoon two about 12 ft vis.

Food and drinks

We'll have a grill and some canopies to cover the food. The club is going to provide some burgers and dogs and chips and water for the afternoon, free for Tigers and asking $5 for non-Tigers. That evening, people are encouraged to bring along something to share and perhaps we'll throw some more meat on the grill.

Those of us camping will need to bring along something for breakfast and maybe lunch the next day. I'll probably bring some fruit, sandwiches, pastries, and coffee for that.
