New stuff for 2010

Lots of new things at Blue Lagoon this year.

Phil has bought out his partner and owns it outright. He wants to make improvements and explore new ideas rather than rest on his laurels. Here are some of them.

- nitrox fills now available

- season pass, see the details and rates.

- more detailed schedules, rates, and policies now published

- apparel, you can buy Blue Lagoon shirts online.

- site improvements, some underway and some planned

There has been a post in awhile so I figured I would give a heads up.

Normally Mammoth Lake is closed for the Easter Weekend Holiday but this year the Mammoth Lake will be open both Good Friday (1000-700) and Easter (900-500/600ish).

The lake was flocked a few weeks ago and vis have been better than 12' ever since for most of the lake. The tempature has been going up slowly after this cool winter. The surface was in the lower to mid-60s the last few weeks and Mid-50s down to 50'.

My brother went on Sat, and said it was (20') great. In the old the days the "pit" could get really good. Looking forward to going out this coming weekend. Almost BL vis. with life and a neutral ph! Sounds like new mgt. is working to bring this site back.

Vis is still great! 15+' everywhere. Check our website 288lake.net for our new summer hours. Saturday afternoon our new Nitrox system was installed successfully. Tank fills are now available every afternoon... check site for business hours, or become a fan on our facebook page.

Me and a friend will be going to Mammoth in a couple weeks. Hopefully visibility is still decent. I can't wait to get inside the C130 again. :)~

I dove Saturday and the vis. was 8'-15' depends on where I was and the number of people there in an area. Then I talked to people yesterday that heard reports from 6'-15' so it changed all the time. Temps are in the mid-80s on the surface to 80 down to 30'.

We dove at 288 on 6/20

Temps were about 90-92 down to 18' and then in the 70s below the thermocline.

Vis was about 30 ft. We could see all the way across the dive platforms and the full length of the boats.

Wow. Great viz. That's a helluva thermocline! I'm working a OW class this weekend. Not for sure where at but will probably be 288 Lake.
