The house has been too quiet since we lost Ellie, so Jesse and I decided to give fostering a try. So, last weekend, we picked up our very first foster dog. Meet Miss Linda!

Miss Linda is a 7-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix, and she's available for adoption through BARC. Based on the intake notes, we think she was an owner surrender. She is a super sweet dog, possibly even sweeter than Ellie. She loves pets and snuggles, and she has excellent house manners - no accidents or chewed up shoes! She clearly had a loving home before, because she knows exactly what to do. She may technically be a senior dog, but she has NOT gotten the memo. She's got loads of energy, especially for squeaky toys or a game of fetch. Or, the best of both worlds, a game of fetch with a squeaky ball. But she's also content to chill on the couch with you when it's time to relax. She's a bit of a velcro dog - she'll always be right by your side! We think her previous owner took her on lots of adventures, because she gets very excited when the harness comes out. In fact, we are taking her on an adventure today. So if you want a dog to have adventures with, Miss Linda would be a great companion! And she's an excellent car dog - she hopped right in the car when we picked her up and spent the whole ride looking out the windows.

Miss Linda is still being vetted and evaluated with other dogs, so we're gathering more info on the perfect home for her. What we do know is that she deserves someone who will give her all the adventures, belly rubs, and squeaky toys she clearly believes she's entitled to.

I would honestly love to see her get adopted by a CHUMmer. She really is a great dog, and I know a CHUM home would be a good home. If we have any dog-friendly events soon (hint, hint), I'll bring her along so you guys can meet her. You can also contact me (or post here, I'm not picky) if you want to meet her.

That's fantastic @Lakediver! And she's lovely! What a gift you and Jesse have given Miss Linda in opening your home to her. I've no doubt she is grateful for a safe space along with lots of snuggles and adventures.

We're fostering her through BARC. She'd already been there for three weeks, so she was getting pretty close to the top of the list, if you know what I mean. In her intake photo, she was wearing a harness with a collapsible water bowl attached to it (so she'd obviously had an owner), and she just look so lost and confused. I couldn't stand the thought of her being on the euth list, so we grabbed her.

It was a little jarring at first to have another dog in Ellie's house, laying in Ellie's beds, playing with Ellie's toys. But that only really lasted a day or so. Overall it's been really nice to have a dog to snuggle with and play with again. We took her to the beach last weekend, and she had a grand old time. Although she didn't quite know what to make of water that moves ... every time the surf rolled back in, she'd jump back out of the water. It was really funny lol.
