I’m new to CHUM but have been involved in various local dive clubs since the 70’s. I was originally certified in 1974 and since then I have made almost 1000 dives. If you meet me, ask about how I rode a manta ray in 1986 or how I twice survived being bitten by sharks.

Hey guys. Originally from Naperville IL, and Houston as of Jan 2019. New to Chum and still relatively new to diving. I started diving and received my open water certification in June 2021 and my Advanced in September. Currently have 19 logged dives, with about 10 in Mammoth Lake in Lake Jackson. Did my first two ocean dives in Jupiter, FL back in October which was incredible. Lot different from those lake dives!
Looking forward to meeting some of you and to get some new dive buddies as I'd love to be able to get out and dive more. Thanks for having me

Hello all.
Got my OW and AOW in Guam in 1990 and dived my ass off for a couple of years back then when I was young and single. Marriage, kids, and life pulled me away for a couple of decades or so, but I'm back at it again and having a blast. I'm getting back into advancing my training as well. Plus, I've had to get all new gear!
I'm hoping that being a member of a dive club will give me more opportunities to dive with others locally.

Hi All,
I got my OW in 2020 then didn't do much with it until getting an AOW and dry suit cert in December. But the goal now is to get a lot more diving in and get into tech and cave diving in the next year or two. I'm from Denver originally, and moved down here for work. I'm an engineer and a reservist so it's not always easy to find time, but I'm making it work. I'm excited to meet you all and dive, and eventually get some dives in outside of the local lakes.

Hi all,
Im Josh. New to CHUM. Dove with some of the guys at Blue Lagoon a few weeks ago and came to the meeting last week.
Certified in 2008 in GA/FL. Got my AOW/Nitrox in 2009. Dove about 25 dives the first year, got experience with wrecks, deep dives, and spearfishing. Then moved to Oregon for 3 years. I got a few dives in up there but it was just so cold and low vis. I didn't want to invest in a dry suit. I enjoy the warm, high vis dives.
Today I sit at 38 dives. Slowly getting back into the sport this past year with a refresher and a dive in Dubai. I definitely missed the water.
A little about me. Im ex-Navy Submariner, 10 years in. Ive been out for 10 years. Worked in O&G for a while. I'm currently a quality, safety, and environmental auditor and travel quite a bit. Trips/Dives are either planned a year in advance or last minute because my clients dictate my schedule most of the time.

Hello, I'm new to chum. My name is Heath and live in Spring, TX (originally from Iowa), but been in Texas about a dozen years in total. Started diving last year, and would like to do some more regular diving in the area - Mammoth, Blue Lagoon. I'm scheduled to go to Spring Lake next month, but also would be up for Lake Travis. I'll be at Lagoon tomorrow. Anyone willing to settle for novice dive buddy, let me know.

Hi all, I’m Ken and started diving in 1990. Did PADI up to Rescue in Okinawa, Japan then got married, had some kids and stopped diving.( Seems to have happened to a few other people on here) Retired 2016, moved from central Texas to Alvin in 2020 and then started diving again 2021. I have a good collection of dives, bought all new gear, working on personal goal of Master Diver and should have everything done this month. Met a good dive buddy and he recommended this club and here I am ready to dive.
