Hello everyone. Another new diver here and already addicted.

Finally got my first couple dives in this past weekend at the Blue Lagoon after getting my Open Water cert done 2 March's ago and keep kicking myself for not going sooner. After our dives, my friend Shannon told me about you all and gave a good recommendation so I figured I'd stop in and say hi.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it out to the next meeting, shouldn't be a problem since I live in the Heights and I thoroughly enjoy a good beer, and hope to get some dives in with everyone soon.

My name is Chris or Lumpy or even "hey you...". I answer to them all.

Been diving since 2006. Some guys on my construction site sunk two boats and had to get them out. So called out a diver he was there for 10 mins and had to pay him 300 bucks. So when they sunk it once again I had to call them out again. So I said what the hell might as well learn how to dive.

Naui cert. Been diving in some really cool sites. I have open water cert, but have been on enough dives and depths to have my advanced. Just have not taken the tests.

I just moved to the Houston area from Mississippi. So looking forward to meeting new people. I live in the Seabrook area now.

Hello,

I am fairly new to diving compared to some people, but not really a beginner either. I started back in 2005, but did not really start practicing locally until the past few months. I am a green technical diver, but I like the extra tasks to practice. I have been a few places in the Americas (not enough in the US in my opinion), but never anywhere in the eastern hemisphere. Nice to meet you guys, I will probably make it to the Stag's Head in November.

Hey there. I am a new-ish diver as I have only been certified for a little over 2 years but went through a couple of 'discover' classes while on vacations before I decided that I needed to be certified. Moved to Houston fairly recently from Chicago, where I did my OW. I did my AOW in Houston and looking forward to taking Rescue soon. Looking to do some local dives now and again between dive trips to the Caribbean (the wife doesn't like cold water!).

Please do join us for our monthly meeting next week - it's on March 15 at Stag's Head Pub. It starts at 7:00 but you'll typically find some of us schooling around earlier...we meet in the back room.

Come early so you can meet and mingle and buy some ChicoBags(r) from me :p It's for a good cause (namely if I win the competition, I get a CHUM Happy Hour) - actually, it really is for a good cause - you can read the thread on the first page - so bring a few extra bucks for some bags.

If you can't make the meeting, check the board often because there's always someone from this group doing something somewhere....

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I would love to head to the pub, but may have a work function the same time/night. Its 50/50 that I will be able to make it this Thursday, but I will def be out there or at upcoming dive events soon!

People often hang out after the presentation, I'd say around 9:30 or so. So maybe that will increase the probably to 60/40. :piratewithhat2:

Hello everyone. My name is Mei-Hwa and I've been addicted to scuba since 2008. Looking forward to doing some diving with fellow chummers in the very near future. I don't have a regular buddy, so I'm hoping to meet lots of potential buddies. I have a trip planned at the end of June to dive the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea on the Spirt of Freedom. Anyone have advice/tips/stories on GBR diving?
