Off season dive op. Feb 7th or 8th

CHUM has been given the opportunity to access the Blue Lagoon for a special off season dive. Those of you who have dove there before in the colder months know how the viz improves add in its the off season and the lagoon has been closed since November I think we can expect some great dive conditions.
It will most likely be February 7th or 8th depending on what works for ya'll. Please post a preference if you have one.
Air fills and rental should be available but it may be cash only, I'll post more details when I get the arrangements finalized.
B52 Brewery in Conroe do tours etc. on Saturdays noon till 4pm, just saying.
This is open to both Tiger sharks and Nurse sharks. Come out and get your Feb dive in the bag.

Looks like a pretty decent size quarry. Didn't find any information on their website about depth, or what there is to see in there. Any notables?

Blue Lagoon is my favorite local lake. I like it because the vis is usually pretty good and the facilities are nice. Max Depth is 28ft, there are some sunken boats and platforms. Rock piles and some other sunken stuff. No real fish except for some small little ones. There are a few turtles here and there. It's a good training lake for sure. They also have an onsite shop with some odds and ends to save a dive, soda, candy and Air/Nitrox(Banked).

Did our dry suit dives today.48oF water temp. Viiz looked,really great at the surface but was down to around 2O feet (probably due to bad weather this week) based on being able to see across a platform on approach to it. Hopefully if we get some nice weather in the next few weeks the viz will get better.

Date update... Saturday Feb 7th, we will meet at the lagoon 10:30 or there abouts before closing the gate and heading down to dive when everyone has arrived.
I would recommend bringing cash as the card machine may not be available but air fills will be available.
This is a great opportunity for those aspiring 2015 DAMChummers not going to Aquarena to get their Feb dives in. Let's go diving.

B52 is a local brewery that's not far of I45. Some of you may be interested in heading that way after the dive. They open 12-4pm and you can buy beer to take home. They have some nice bottles and flasks for the purpose. This Saturdy they are also having a local artisan market. Details below
