I have it on ocean dives or if I'm going to practice in fresh water.

Oddly enough the lionfish invitational is now requiring 2 smb according to the email. When I asked why it was because of the 2 divers that got "separated" in 2024. I don't see how 2 would have helped and figure another will be a problem if both "self deploy" on entry from the Fling.

Always in saltwater, as well as a mirror. But not usually in freshwater.

Only ocean for me. Part of my emergency kit that also includes snorkel, mirror and hat.

Always in salt water along with mirror, whistle, dye marker, at least one light (regardless of day or night dive) and snorkel. Strobe and orange/reflective bucket hat not a bad idea either.

Fresh water is a mixed bag. Depends on dive site.

I make it a point to have it in salt water. It may or may not happen to be there in lakes. Unless I was diving a sea-sized lake then it would be treated as an ocean.
