TGCC Banquet January 25,2025

This event will be on January 25 at

Bayland Park Community Center
6400 Bissonnet St
Houston, TX 77074

Social hour starts at 11 AM followed by lunch at 11:45. Lunch includes salad entree dessert and ice tea or lemonade. Entree is bbq.Cost is $30

For those not familiar with the event TGCC holds this banquet every year. Its where various scuba clubs come together to honor their Divers of the Year and pass out various awards. TGCC itself gives out several awards.

CHUM will honor our DOY for 2024. Would like to see a good CHUM turnout. We will also recognize our Photographer of Year and all those who got the DAM Chummer award.



The $30 can be paid in three ways:

1. Cash or check at the January Meeting(I wont be at Christmas Party)
2. Paypal via link on TGCC Website www.tgccdiving.org Click the link that says awards banquet). If confused its treasurer@tgccdiving.org
3. Mail a check no later than January 21 to

Please note TGCC no longer has a PO Box.
Please note that since we have to give the caterer a headcount by Thursday the 23rd there cant be any walkups. Also we are not supposed to accept cash at the facility(county regulations). If you cant make the January meeting as long as I know you are coming you can give me the funds at at the banquet. Just don't make it obvious.

If anyone wants to host a post banquet gathering at a bar or other location feel free to start a separate thread. Please note there can be no alcohol brought onto the facility,

Getting ahead here before the xmas holidays break:

After the lunch and awards, we'll plan to relocate to Under The Volcano ("UTV") located on 2349 Bissonnet St, Houston, Tx, 77005.

It has a full bar, a decent menu and plenty of indoor seating, plus parking. It opens at 2pm so we'll get there soon after that.

Looking forward to seeing Chummers at the TGCC awards & luncheon, or the post-awards at UTV, or both.

Well, shucky darns!! I am BEYOND BUMMED that 24% and I will not be able to attend the banquet this year!! HUGE THUMBS DOWN!!

It is such a nice event to honor our members and the other dive clubs in the area.

And on the year that I actually pull off an upset win for DOTY, ( ) I can't be there to do my one hundred continuous bows like the 3rd place winner from The Sound of Music. Trust me, if we were going to be anywhere on the continent, I would have driven to Houston to milk this accolade for all it is worth. Thank you, again, to everyone who did vote for me to be DOTY. It is a fun and amazing honor and I'm very grateful.
