Well, time moves quick and in a week we are heading to the Atlantic in Boston.

So time for a few going-away drinks. Sunday 8th June at 2:30 pm CT at Gristworkz at 1504 Chapman St, Houston, TX 77009

Indeed! I used to stay in that hotel (Parker House) by Boston Common every week before we started finalizing our move. And The Last Hurrah used to be the poor relation to the Parker Bar but now it’s the main bar. Popular with literary figures like Nathaniel Hawthorne and Ralph Waldo Emerson the Saturday Club of writers used to meet there monthly and get sloshed. Lots of politicos used to meet there before they moved it to the main floor and made patrons visible from the street.
John Wilkes Booth stayed there in 1865 and practiced his pistol shooting in the alley out back before assassinating Abraham Lincoln a week later. But that pre-dates the Last Hurrah bar.
I recommend the martinis but watch out, the measures are huge!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Gristworkz today to see Chris off to the Northeast! And a very special thanks to you Chris for all that you have done for CHUM!! We looking forward to seeing you, even if virtually, in the months and years to come...
