Your 2018 DotY Nominees <insert drum roll audio clip>:

Siren
Even though they don’t live in Houston and can’t make most CHUM events, she works tirelessly year in and year out to organize the annual CHUM Claims the Comal event. She does a top-notch job of running that event and could teach a class on how to properly lead a trip from start to finish. Her enthusiasm is infectious. The success and longevity of the Comal event is a testament to the effort she puts in coordinating, communicating and cheerleading. On top of that, she keep us informed and entertained by their DAM CHUMmer pursuits around the country.

PegLeg
In everything except kickboxing, Peg Leg sets an example we should all follow. He has been steadily building his dive skills after sacrificing his leg to the sport of diving. He hosted the wonderful BlueStem Dreams BBQ this Spring and is leading the Red Sea trip next year. He's also a Dam Chummer and routinely makes the long drive to Houston for meetings and social activities. We even caught him numerous times helping people with equipment problems and sharing his extra equipment with them.

*We will be serving free beer at the christmas party to anyone who submitted a nominee, and the nominees themselves, and anyone who votes, and anyone who considers voting but is too lazy to send me a PM.

As honored as I was to be nominated, I couldn't be happier for PegLeg for winning this year's Diver of the Year! He truly is an example of what being the best CHUMMER is: being a DAM CHUMmer, opening up his home to this wild bunch, and dedicating himself to driving to and from all the meetings, leading and joining dive trips whenever they are offered, and just being a fun, upstanding, warm & genuine guy. This past year at CHUM Claims the Comal, I could have been a rich lady had I collected money every time someone mentioned how awesome Peter is and how much they missed having him there. :) Congratulations, Peter!!! Well deserved!!!

I just LOVE it when good things happen to good people!!!

As you guys know, random pictures pop up on the site each time you log in; it's a lovely feature because you see people and trips that bring back good memories.

This picture just popped up when I logged in; it's Richard "Packetsniffer" Mork. He is who our Diver of the Year award is named in honor of; unfortunately, he's no longer with us so it's extra special to see him smiling like this. Which is crazy since apparently, the pic was taken at Offatt's Bayou!
