Swimmers are not allowed into the lagoon until after noon and only if shelters become available as divers leave. There are numerous classes going on in the lagoon as well which also affects the viz. When we arrived on sunday at 9am there was a line of swimmers cars already parked up outside, the first being there from 7am. They all knew they wouldn't get in till after 12 at the earliest. There aren't many locations around the Houston area for diving and its hard to make them profitable on divers entry alone. If swimmers help ensure a local dive location stays available I'm happy to get up there early in the morning and get my dives in early. That leaves the rest of the day for eating, drinking and hanging in a gorgeous location. Personally I'm impressed with the swimmers dedication, waiting five hours to get in.
