Memory lane - Media gallery redux

A few years after CHUM was founded, we had to upgrade the forum software that is the backbone of the website. In that process, unfortunately many of the then existing media gallery categories that we had got corrupted. Some of the photos ended up in the wrong gallery, some got mis-titled, some vanished into the ether. If you know me, then you probably also know that stuff like that makes my a$$ itch a lil bit. Now that I have a new laptop with some decent processing power, I figured I'd re-upload the photos that I have for the wonky galleries. It'll be a work in progress for a while, but I'm hoping to get to it as I can. FWIW, I won't ever enter the reupload photos in any photo contests. It's just my little attempt to preserve some of the club's history.

Since there's no place to start like the beginning, I kicked it off with CHUM's very first dive trip tonight. Pics and videos are now reposted in the Media Gallery category. This was an unexpectedly poignant exercise. Seeing pics of KytNut caught me off guard but brought a smile, even if a melancholy one. Ken had a great smile and a great laugh. The videos aren't what I would now call "quality", but made me chuckle since it feels like watching my parents' old home movies. Gotta love 2005 camera technology! It was fun to re-read the trip report and look through the photos again.

Just reuploaded some pics from CHUM's very first Comal trip. You can catch a few glimpses of CHUM's first tshirt in there also. We've come a long way, baby... The trip thread was fun to read through too.

I reuploaded pics from CHUM's first international trip - Roatan 2005, including our dive boat that sunk and CHUM's first community service event (bringing school supplies to the island). The real time trip report made me smile too. Wish the pictures that had been attached were still there.

Pics from CHUMs July 2005 trip to Bonne Terre Mine have been reuploaded here. I'm loving re-reading these old trip reports, too. Lots of small details that had since slipped my mind and are fun to be reminded about.

I reuploaded pics from CHUM's poker night for Tsunami relief and a few CHUM meetings from 2005. For these, I added captions to most of them. While I was at it, I went ahead an uploaded some pics from our tour of the Memorial Hermann hyperbaric chamber.

I just reuploaded pics from one of the more unique opportunities that CHUM has brought my way, our 2005 Commercial Dive Experience at the Ocean Corp. I wish they were still doing that. I would definitely sign up for it again. The weekend is summarized in the trip report.

Getting started back up on this project after the holiday hiatus. Just uploaded pics from our 2005 trip to Media Luna. You can find the trip report here. Outback was apparently partially speaking in hieroglyphics so you have to kinda read around those. That was a really fun trip. I'd love to get back there sometime.

Well our 2005 Morehead City NC trip was a blowout and apparently I got very few pics at all and zero of people. The ones I do have were reuploaded here.

I put some pics in the Gallery from our '05 Spiegel Groovy trip, the first of many. Those trips were always a fun time.

I also added one pic from our 2005 Holiday Party. Since I'm in it, I'm thinking it was taken by GWNDWN. Some of you may recognize my pants in that photo. I guess those officially turned 20 years old in December. Wonder if they'll last another 20...

And THAT wraps up my 2005 photos reuploads. Wow, that was a very busy 12 months. I'm not sure when I was ever home. My logbook tells me I did 84 dives that year.

On to the 2006 photos (but not tonight).
