Hello CHUM!
Hi everybody! (It's harder to type like Dr. Nick sounds then it looks...

)
I am fresh meat in the scuba world; I just got my OW cert this past weekend!! I absolutely love the sport and have bought most of my own gear already. I found your little corner of the internet through scubaboard. I think a few of you have responded to the stupid things I've been asking over there in the Texas Swamp Divers board, so thanks! I thought I'd come over here and pester more of you with silly newbie questions about diving and scuba in Houston!!
I have been in Houston for 6 1/2 years. I moved down here for a job from the great state of Chicago!

(poor Bears) I had previously done 2 different "discover scuba" dives in the Bahamas and Oahu a few years ago, so I have known for a long time that I wanted to get into scuba diving, but I just haven't found the time to do it until now. Now, of course, I'm mad as hell for having waited this long!!
Anyway, I'm completely hooked on this sport and as long as my girlfriend will let me, I want to try and dive at least twice per month, maybe even every weekend. I'm over in the Clear Lake side of Houston, so Twin Lakes, Mammoth (when it opens), and Blue Lagoon are the places that I know of nearby to get wet quick. I am going to try to make it up to a CHUM meeting in the near future to say hello!
Happy to be here!
Dave
