Hi everyone,
It was recommended to me as a new Club member I needed to introduce myself. So here goes…
I am a native Texan and have lived in Houston since 1979. I’m also an “Air Force brat†and grew up living in many different places … the most memorable was the 4 years we lived in “Anchorage, Alaska. Over the years I have worn many “hats,†but my primary background is in nursing, operating room technology, and drug research. Current occupation? Well, I don’t have one and don’t want one…I quit work a year ago (decided to hang it up) and I’m loving it! Besides I got tired of all the “BS†and stress. My goal is to be able to do as much diving, relaxing and enjoying life as possible before the money runs out!
After being a single parent for 13 years raising two boys, I met the love of my life and remarried (25 yrs ago). We wanted a “hobby†we could share together and decided on “scuba divingâ€Â…as the saying goes…the rest was history! In 1994, I received my advanced NAUI certification in Cozumel, and Nitrox certification in 2000 on the Belize Aggressor. Since then I have enjoyed diving with my dive buddy-husband in: Aruba, the Bahamas, Bonaire, Belize, Cayman, Florida, and Hawaii, as well as taking several dive trips yearly to Cozumel (our home away-from-home). Diving is my passion…I love networking with other divers and encourage as many people as I can to consider scuba. I am an active member in several local scuba clubs where I have coordinated Club social activities and a volunteer at Seaspace for the past 14 years. I joined CHUM in February 2007, was 1st Place Winner in the Club’s 1st Chili Cook-Off and attended the Dive Pirates Ball held recently at the Aquarium Restaurant downtown. I look forward to being a member of CHUM, participating in Club activities and meeting other members.
