Hello! I'm new to the forum and new to diving... ok so haven't dove yet... but Aqua Burro (my boyfriend) is dead set on getting me in the water. So... that means I have little to no knowledge of what i'm getting myself into and that ya'll are going to have a lot of questions to answer for me!

Unless you like a lot of neoprene, you will probably want to wait another 6 weeks to let the lakes warm up, but you can do the comal. The Comal is always 70 - 72 degrees and it feels really good when it is hot outside.

Welcome to the U.S. and our club. The local diving isn't so great unless you go out to Flower Gardens but we make trips of all kinds. Some are weekend trips in nearby states and our club plane (aka Continental) takes us to anywhere in the Caribbean in about 2 hours.

We have a local weekend planned early next month at the Comal River (2.5 hour drive to New Braunfels) that would be a great way to meet some members and re-introduce you and your gear to water.

Hi... I'm TexasTim and I'm an aquaholic...I like beer, Jimmy Buffett, beer, old rock and roll, beer, roasted corn on-the-cob, beer, underwater photography, beer, travel, beer, long walks in the sun after a rainstorm has wet the earth, beer, deep dives, beer, sunsets and beer...Oh, and rum.

I started diving a R-E-A-L-L-Y long time ago (...think 'from the Cretaceous period' - Holy crap! Has it been 35 years?) and prefer bathwater-warm diving to anything else... Roatan is one of my fave dive destinations for now (until the cruise ships take over).

I am new to CHUM but not new to diving.
I know a few CHUM members already and am looking forward to getting to know the rest of you.

Have done most of my diving in the beautiful but cold waters of Puget Sound ~ Seattle WA area.
Been diving for over 12 years. Lots of U/W hours logged.
I will become a Houston transplant before the end of April.

Its going to be an adjustment. I haven't dove a lake in over 10 years.
Not sure what it will be like to dive without a hood and thick gloves.

I will also need some assistance in beer choices. I hear this group is as well known for its beer drinking as it is its diving.
When I was in Houston in March I couldn't find my favorite brew.. "Mac and Jacks"
Might need some suggestions on what to order when out.
