Welcome Michael!! I'm so glad you had fun getting your open water! If there's anything I can help with, please let me know. We have groups that go out and dive really regularly so feel free to join! Tagging @Lakediver and @VanessaArrrr who do a lot of the weekend planning :)
We're pretty much just diving at Spring Lake, now that the water has cooled off. Or at least, we're not going to Mammoth quite as often as we were. I just do not enjoy 60 degree water in a wetsuit! If we start making regular outings to Mammoth Lake again, I will definitely post them on the dive buddy board.

Yikes!
Weekend dives would be right up our Alley.
Thank you so much for information and the tags.

Hi @Tami V ! Welcome to CHUM. Yes, it is best to get some diving experience under the belt before diving Flower Gardens. I'm going to Cozumel for my first time soon. What are your favorite places to dive there?
I will look back at the dive log and let you know. There is a place called the bricks but I do not remember the full name. we saw this running rock lobster and some Barracuda along with a bunch of other critters

Welcome! I moved to Texas in 2015 and live on the west side in Katy. There are a lot of great people to dive with and several dive clubs you will probably run into if you dive any of the Texas lakes in the area. That's how I found several new places around here. Divers are a great community of people to get to know. Congratulations, enjoy and maybe I'll see you around the lakes in the area (not quite Cozumel, but you'll definitely learn a valuable skill set around here)
Thanks Javadwc
We are looking forward to the new skill set
-Working without current
-Fresh water vs. Salt water Buoyancy
Buoyancy in general is something I REALLY need to work on :).
We are looking forward to continuing this process of efficiency and safety

That's probably Palancar Bricks. I absolutely love diving there! The coral formations are so beautiful. And I usually see lots of critters, too.

You are right on the money.
It was amazing. We went up through a cool narrow canyon of coral as we were finishing.
I’m not sure I have ever seen anything so beautiful

Howdy!

No, I’m not a native Texan but have lived in Texas since ‘97…except for the last three years…been living in Aruba. Originally from Detroit. I’ll be back in Texas soon enough though to make some meetings. I joined after seeing a Scuba Board Post.

Certified with different agencies for different Sea Cards including “NASDS” for Ow, “PADI” through DM, “HSA” - another DM and SDI for a bunch of certs.

I plan dives every week here in Aruba if you’re on island or planning to come…just let me know.

I love diving…don’t mind a single malt whisky now and again…
